Countries with fewer than 3 stations with a value are left out, unless no country has that many, so one station does not stand for a country.

How This Is Measured

Each station's daily maximum and minimum for 10 October 2026 is compared with the mean and standard deviation of the same element for that week of the year over 1991-2020. The difference in degrees is shown in Celsius and Fahrenheit. The z score is that difference divided by the standard deviation, so it says how unusual the day is for that station, whatever its climate.

Stations are ranked by the larger z score of the maximum and the minimum for the hottest list, and by the smaller for the coldest list. Only stations with at least 15 years behind the normal are ranked. A station with one unusual day does not stand for the area around it, and places without a station are not covered. This is not a gridded analysis.
